“Three Dancers” – 1980

Whether the Three Graces of Greek mythology representing elegance, youth and mirth or an homage to modern painting styles of the 20th Century, “Three Dancers” was beauty and fun rolled into one. Note the breasts, especially the left dancer with Parcheesi piece tits. And the middle dancer may be pregnant with a visible baby and umbilical-like cord.

All the dancers and the nude lying in the grass sport bellies of air-filled rubber balls called “pimple balls,” so named due to the little bumps evenly distributed across a round surface. Soft and bouncy, they were popular in the 1960s for street games but now are an object of nostalgia. Also the arms and legs are wooden clothes pins, a long-gone hanging implement for wet clothes taken over by plastics and  dryers.
